The main hall

The main hall has a spacious and airy feel, enhanced by the provision of two large french doors accessing a small patio and the large lawn at the back. It is equipped with a sprung hardwood floor, ideal for dancing.  Accessed from the hall are the servery (qv), the Dakota Room (qv) and the store room, where tables, chairs and the stage are stored.

The dimensions are 13.65m x 9.05m x 3.26m high.

There is a portable modular stage available comprising 12 x 1m sq sections, height approximately 600mm.

There are tables and chairs available: tables 18 of 1.8m x 0.75m and 4 of 1.2m x 0.75m and around 130 chairs

There are plain white tablecloths and chair covers available as optional extras. 

There is a small patio and a large lawn at the back accessed via the two french doors. This is available for use by Hirers for outdoor events, music, hog-roasts and barbeques.  With the Major Party Package for larger events such as wedding receptions, you can erect a gazebo or a marquee by prior arrangement, although additional temporary licensing may be required; to be discussed with the booking secretary.

There is an outdoor electric socket to supply bbqs or hog-roast machines, lighting and of course bouncy castles.

The paved area extends around the end of the hall and is also accessible from the Dakota Room.

Facilities - General Information

Down Ampney Village Hall is the hub of the village, and has a wide range of facilities available to suit all needs . Whether you are looking to book a party, function or something else, we have a large main hall that holds up to 140 people and an attached but separate lounge bar area.

Additionally, there is a fully equipped servery fitted to the latest hygiene standards and an additional private function room (The Wynne Room), ideal for committee meetings and smaller gatherings.

Heating is by a modern A/C - Heat Recovery system.

We have a smaller mobile single speaker unit and large powerful PA available for hire, and an Overhead Projector. In the Dakota Room there are 2 small speakers and a fitted screen.

The Village Hall has a large car park for 30-40 cars and includes full disabled access to both floors.
